Webinar: Perceptions & Opportunity - Supporting Post-Resident Youth

Trainer: From Prison Cells to PhDs, with Dr. Stanley Andrisse

Date: March 5, noon-1pm, online webinar.  Register here.

What to expect:

This hour-long professional development webinar is for school-based professionals and others who support students. Specifically, this webinar aims to:

  1. increase awareness of the needs and experiences of youth and young adult students who have previously experienced detention/incarceration.

  2. challenge and examine stigma and bias relative to justice-impacted people and education and achievement, and

  3. improve empathy and understanding for students and young adults who have experienced incarceration or detention.

Join us and increase your skills for working with Post-Resident Youth (PRY) students. PRY is defined as youth/young adults who have previously ever experienced detention or incarceration.   Some reference may be made to the Open Doors Youth Reengagement Program but the overall content will be applicable to many job roles.
